To start I laid the template on the steel used for each part and center punched the location on the holes that make the corner radii.
Next I drilled the holes in the plate. This will leave me with a smooth radius where it will be bent later.
Then I cut the fitting and filed it to size. I left each tab (4) long to be trimmed after bending.
Next I drilled the holes in the ends to attach it to the bending block. The block is drilled through 5/8" from the top to locate the holes for the landing gear attach bolts.
The tabs were bent cold using wood to protect the fitting. After the first tab was bent it was drilled by backdrilling through the bending block using the predrilled hole for accurate location.
After the second tab is bent the the same hole in the bending block is used to drill the hole in the second tab by drilling back through the hole. (Credit goes to Skybolt News for the idea).
After both tabs are bent and drilled I measured up from the hole centers to get the proper edge distance. Using a washer as a guide I then marked the proper radius and ground / filed the tabs to size.
This is what the fitting looks like after trimming the "ears" to the proper radius. The length of the fitting hasn't been trimmed yet (see the holes used to attach the fitting to the bending block?)
Next I drilled the holes for the bushing that the landing gear attach bolts pass through. After using a step drill to drill the holes (while the fitting was attached to the bending block again) I bent the flying wire tab to the correct angle. Then I trimmed the ends of the fitting to the proper lengths and marked the location of the holes for the flying wires.
After the holes were drilled in the ears I cut a length of tubing for the bushing, leaving it long so it can be trimmed to the correct length after welding. I used a single piece of tubing so I can insure the bushings line up after welding.
This is the same fitting from a different angle. You can see how it is bent for attachment of the flying wires later.

My next step was to drill the small guide holes for the flying wires. They will be enlarged after the fitting is welded to the fuselage. I then welded the bushing to the fitting  After welding I cut the center section out and filed the bushings to the proper length.
